Strengthening Tourism Ties with India
India's travel trade sector is setting its sights on Greece, with more than 400 travel professionals expected to arrive in the country for the TAFI Convention 2026. The main event will take place on the island of Rhodes from October 4 to 7.
The choice of Greece, and Rhodes in particular, by the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) highlights the growing importance of the partnership. This initiative comes as India's outbound tourism market gathers significant momentum, while Greece seeks to expand into new and high-interest source markets.
Exploring Athens and Central Greece
In addition to the main events in Rhodes, delegates will spend time exploring Athens. The itinerary goes beyond standard sightseeing, featuring visits to five-star hotels and excursions to historical destinations such as Delphi, Arachova, and central Greece.
Nikos Kavalieros, a partner at WOTF Group—the company central to organizing the convention—emphasized that hosting the delegation is a major milestone for the Greek tourism market. The organization routinely designs and operates specialized inbound travel programs from India across Greece and Europe.
