Why this matters to Israelis interested in Greek real estate: Official updates detail state-backed financial support for property purchases and renovations across various regions in Greece.
The platform for Greece's expanded relocation grants is scheduled to open on Wednesday, 14 October, according to Social Cohesion and Family Minister Domna Michailidou. Citizens who settle permanently in designated border regions—including Kilkis, Florina, Kastoria, Drama, Pella, Grevena, Kozani, Serres, Ioannina, Thesprotia, and Evros—can receive 10,000 euros, with half paid in advance. Applicants no longer need to prove employment in the destination area, and renting or owning a home is sufficient.
Paperwork for the Anakainizo renovation scheme begins within ten days, following the issuance of roughly 94,000 certificates. Approved applicants can file documents to receive 50 percent of the subsidy upfront, covering up to 36,000 euros per home with energy upgrades. Additionally, the Spiti Mou III scheme will assist individuals aged 25 to 55 in purchasing a first home, covering properties valued up to 300,000 euros with loans reaching up to 230,000 euros, subject to specific income thresholds.
