The lawyer
Marcel Cremer is an attorney at Cremer & Partners in Athens, a family firm founded by his father, Lefteris M. Cremer, in 1974. He has been a member of the Athens Bar since 2008 and holds an LLM in European and International Business Law from the UK (Essex).
Before joining the firm, from 2003 to 2006, Marcel worked as a real estate adviser in London for leading residential and commercial offices. That combination of law and property is exactly what an investor from abroad needs: someone who understands both the contract and the building.
In Greece, buying a flat goes through a lawyer and a notary. The lawyer checks that the property is legally registered, has no debts and no illegal construction, and only then do you sign. Service is in professional English.
