Greece Golden Visa: General information only regarding official policy.
Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum, Thanos Plevris, stated at the Prodexpo 2026 conference in Athens that residence permits issued through the Golden Visa program will be revoked in cases of fictitious discounts or indirect cash-backs that bypass the investment threshold. He added that enforcement also targets attempts to circumvent the short-term rental ban via subleasing. The policy aims to ensure properties are made available for long-term use and to encourage investments beyond central Athens. Official data shows Chinese investors lead the program, followed by nationals from Turkey, Israel, and the UK.
